Pengertian Manajemen adalah suatu proses perencanaan, pengorganisasian, kepemimpinan, dan pengendalian upaya anggota organisasi dan menggunakan semua sumber daya organisasi untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan.berikut ini adalah uraian dari pengertian Manajemen secara umum:
>Defenisi dari Manajemen adalah kemmpuan atau keterampilan untuk memperoleh suatu hasil dalam rangkah pencapaian tujuan melalui orang lain.
>Manajemen Sebagai ilmu dan Seni maksudnya dalam Hal ini disebabkan oleh kepemiminan memerlukan kharisma, stabilitas emosi, kewibawaan, kejujuran, kemampuan menjalin hubungan antaramanusia yang semuanya itu banyak ditentukan oleh bakat orang lain.

Sedangkan dalam manajemen ada keterkaitannya dengan Manajer,dan ada beberapa uraiannya lagi:
>Tingkatan Manajemen ada Manajemen Puncak (Top Management), Manajemen Menengah(Middle Management), dan Manajemen Bawah/Lini (Low Management)
>Fungsi-fungsi Manajemen:Planning atau perencanaan, Organizing atau pengorganisasian,Staffing atau penyusunan personalia.
>Ketrampilan Manajerial adalah ketrampilan yang di miliki seseorang atau skill

Berikut Evolusi Teori Manajemen:
>Teori manjemen Klasik,maksudnya manajemen klasik yang sangat memperhatikan produktivitas pabrik dan pekerja disamping memperhatikan manajemen bagi satu organisasi yang komplek.
>Teori perilaku maksudnya adalah lebih memfokuskan pada pekerjaan yang akan di kerjakan.
>Teori Kuantitatif adalah teori yang berdasarkan pengalaman.
>Evolusi Teori Manajemen adalah bentuk perkembangan teori manajemen dengan munculnya teori-teori manajemen yang baru yang memusatkan perhatian kepada satu permasalahan manajenlen tertentu.

Manajemen dan Lingkungan Eksternal;
>Defenisi Lingkungan adalah segala sesuatu di sekitar kita yg dapat menyokong berlangsungnya kehidupan,di luar pekerjaan kita.
>faktor eksternal Makro meliputi Teknologi, ekonomi, lingkungan sosial,dan dimensi inetrnasional sedangkan faktor eksternal Mikro dalam perusahaan meliputi para pesaing, pasar tenaga kerja, Lembaga keuangan, dan lainnya.
>Tanggung Jawab Sosial Manajer adalh tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan dalam manajemen
